Obituary

April 3, 1949 a light was born in Los Angles California, his parents named him Lanny.

Lanny spent much of his youth at this grandpa’s farm in Red Rock. Attending school in both Red Rock and Tucson. In Tucson is where he met the love of his life, Dinese. Introduced through Lanny’s sister LynnAnn.

After having kids Lanny and Dinese adventured around the Western States for work. Arizona, California, Washington, Wyoming and eventually settled in Pryor Oklahoma and raised their two sons, Leonard and Dennis. In Oklahoma Lanny had several businesses. He was always a hard-working man that instilled that ethic into his children. Later in life Lanny and Dinese moved back to Southern Arizona. Their boys eventually followed.

Lanny’s love of the water made him a Captain to many boats. He and Dinese owned many boats and enjoyed the water. Spending time in San Diego, Apache Lake and Hudson Lake in Oklahoma. “Teaching” several family members and his boys how to swim with his special technique.

Lanny was an amazing man with a heart filled with love. He affected everyone he met. You always knew where you stood. His soft-spoken voice or his pointing finger would let you know if he was or wasn’t pleased with you. Usually followed up with a hug. Speaking of hugs, they were electric. He had the love of the Lord God his Savior. His arms carried the power to make you feel loved to the core. Every hug emitted his love of the Lord through your body to your soul as almost a warmth.

Lanny & Dinese only had two boys that married and increased the family. He helped raise his brothers two sons when Norman was sent to heaven at 28 years old. Also helping to raise another nephew when circumstances arose.

His heart was filled with people and animal love. So many dogs, horses and other critters. Smokey the Miniature Schnauzer was part of the family. He had so many cousins, uncles and aunts that increased his family. Whether you were blood kin or not you could feel the love from Lanny.

Lanny lived a full life of love and happiness. He was excited about meeting the Lord for fifty years before he actually did at age 73. He had a great sense of humor. His laugh and smile were contagious.  He was taken to soon for us but not soon enough for him. There wasn’t a person more befitting an angel than Lanny. He loved the Lord and lived the life.

Lanny is survived by his wife of 56 years, Dinese. Two sons, Leonard and wife Jana. Dennis and wife Shari. Four Grandchildren, Dustin (wife Monica), Grant, Tiffany Bernal (husband Jason), and Logan Dill. Great grandchildren, Tyler (wife Karla), Zadie, Karlie, Lil Jason and Jordan. One great great grandchild, Elijah and another expected any day. Nieces, nephews, cousins and so many other lives he touched.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Norma. A brother Norman and sister LynnAnn and so many other loved ones.
