Obituary

Lawrence Ray Warnes Sr.
Lawrence R. (Larry) Warnes age 59, of Marana, Arizona died
peacefully at home after a very courageous battle with
glioblastoma (brain cancer) surrounded by loved ones on
September 3, 2021. He was born on January 20, 1962, in
Tucson Arizona. Son of James J Warnes and Florence M
Warnes. Larry is survived by his wife Linda Warnes of
Marana, Az, daughter Allison Molden and her husband Jon of
Tucson, Az, son Lawrence Warnes Jr and his wife Desiree of
Mounment, Co, daughter Savannah Hyatt and husband
Clayton of Marana,Az, grandchildren Nichole Hyatt, Victoria
Hyatt, Carlie Molden, Wyatt Warnes, Chad Hyatt, Magnus
(Little Jonny) Molden, Brianna Hyatt, and Austin Warnes,
sister Betty Warnes of Knoxville, Tn, sister Barbara and
David Lively of New Concord, Ky, brother James Jr. and
Charlotte Warnes of Henderson, Nv, sister Janet and Jimmie
Williams of Tucson, Az, sister Sandy and Eddie Fry of
Newton, Ia, sister Grace Burleigh (Jim Donelson Jr.)
committed relationship of Tucson, Az, brother Phillip Warnes
of Tucson, Az, brother Robert Warnes of Florence, Az, sister
Marion and Adam Moody of Blountsville, Al, many nieces
and nephews as well as close friends. Larry was proceeded
in death by his parents James and Florence Warnes of
Tucson. Larry attended elementary school and half of middle
school in Marana when the family moved from Silverbell to
Tucson he then attended Apollo Jr High where he played
volleyball he even took 1st place. Larry graduated from
Sunnyside High in 1980. Larry began his lifelong
employment record working at Tucson Wholesale Florist in
1978 at the age of 16 he stayed there until 2002 (24 years)
when the business was closing. Larry and Linda met at the

flower shop and began dating in 1981 they married on June
4, 1982 at Catalina Methodist Church in Tucson, Az
(celebrated 39 years this June). When Tucson Wholesale
closed he became a busdriver for Marana Unified School
District in 2002 where he was called the best employee
Dennis had ever had. While working weekdays most
evenings and some weekends as a bus driver he began a
second job in 2005 working for McDonalds he never had a
day off and thats the way he wanted it to be. Up until late
December of 2019 he was employed by both MUSD (17
years) and McDonalds (14 years).Larry was the hardest
working man any had ever met. Larry enjoyed hunting,
fishing, watching sports both on tv and in person. Larry
absolutely loved watching and helping his grandchildren
with their baseball. His grandchildren were the light of his
life. Larry was a die hard fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Los
Angeles Lakers, Cincinnati Reds, and the University of
Arizona. If he was in the stands of any game you knew it
because he was loud and would even yell at the refs at the
high school football games for calling or not calling proper
plays and fouls. Larry was the kind of man that everyone
loved and wanted to be around always doing for someone
else. Larry will be missed tremendously by all who knew him
especially his family.
A visitation will be held Saturday, September 25, 2021 from
9:00 to 10:00am at Marana Mortuary Cemetary located at
12146 W Barnett Rd, Marana, Arizona. Funeral service to
follow at 10am followed by gravesite burial.

lieu of flowers.
