Obituary

Mark J. Lawson, 66, passed away on Monday, January 24, 2022.

Mark was born Saturday, December 10, 1955 in Tucson, AZ to Chalmers & Joan Lawson. He grew up in Wilcox, AZ. He played football, basketball and baseball through high school. He moved to Tucson, AZ to attend the University of Arizona. It was in Tucson where he met the love of his life, Cheryl Corcoran. They married on Saturday, August 20, 1977. They have three sons, Michael, Kevin and Mark.

Mark was a huge fan of University of Arizona sports. He always had a University of Arizona ball cap on or close by.

Mark had a strong work ethic, commitment and love for family. He was a very loving, kind and easy going man. Many considered him a “second” dad in their lives.

Mark will be sorely missed by his wife, Cheryl Lawson. His siblings; His brother and wife, John and Pam Lawson. His sister and husband, Maureen Lawson-Brown and Dennis Brown. His Sister Loretta Wood. His brother and wife, Gavin and Kerri Lawson. His children and grand-children; His Son and wife, Michael Lawson and Sara Lawson and their children, Elizabeth, Luke and Audrey. His son Kevin Lawson and his daughter Mena. And his son Mark Lawson.

Mark had a strong faith in Jesus Christ. We now celebrate his acceptance, by Our Lord, into eternal Glory with The Father of all.

Isaiah 40:29-31
He gives strength to the weary,
And to the one who lacks might He increases power.
Though youths grow weary and tired,
And vigorous young men stumble badly,
Yet those who wait for the Lord
Will gain new strength;
They will mount up with wings like eagles,
They will run and not get tired,
They will walk and not become weary.

I worked with Mark for many years at Walgreens and he was a really great guy. Just found out the news from a coworker and will miss him. He was always fun to be around.
