Obituary

WILLIAM (Bill) A. Codd born August, 1934 deceased July, 2020 living the life he wanted. Bill attended Safford School on 4th Avenue (4 blocks from where he grew up), graduated from Tucson High in 1952 and played football at the University of Arizona. He graduated with an engineering degree, then proudly served in the Air Force for a few years and later back to Harvard Business School for a Masters in Engineering and Business.
He was a “brainy” ! according to his closest cousin and a bit eccentric.
He worked for ConEdison in NYC, NY and lived there for about 30 years until his father William H. Codd (a native Tucsonan who served as a Tucson City Council person from 1940 to 1952) passed away. Bill retired from ConEdison/American Electric Power returned to Tucson and moved into the home he grew up in on South 4th Avenue, Armory Park area, until he passed away. Bill was always an avid reader and possessed hundreds of books. One of his favorite haunts over the years (up to 3X per week for lunch) was Rincon Market; the older and regular customers might remember him – most often sitting by himself at a table reading for several hours. Bill’s surviving relatives include (1st and 2nd cousins only) Charles (Mike) Codd (Barbara), Marcia Krumwiede Tims (Scott), Lisa Krumwiede Maurer, Angela Krumwiede Runyon (Ray), and Stephanie Codd Anderson (Larry) and their families, Russell Krumwiede (cousin by marriage to Patti Codd Krumwiede-deceased).
