Obituary

Allen W. Lacy, 57, of Marana, AZ passed away unexpectedly on June 25th, 2024. Allen is survived by his wife Victoria, sisters Carol, Cheryl, and Dianne, brother Timmy, step-children Kyle, Kelby, and Talon, and many generations of cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Allen graduated from Marana High School, where he cultivated many lifelong friendships. His skills as a cook paired with his spirited attitude attributed to the rising fame of Tucson’s Li’l Abners’ Steak House, where he worked from the 1980s’ through the 2000s’.  Allen spent his life building a career as a commercial electrician. His greatest success was in his most recent work at the Silverbell mine; he was proud to be a part of the ASARCO team.

Win or lose, Allen was a diehard Buffalo Bills fan all of his life. He was an avid hunter and fisherman; always happy to come along for the adventure when anyone in the family drew a tag. He enjoyed watching old western movies, trips up to the White Mountains, and going for drives in his truck and side by side. Allen was a foodie. He lived for a good meal and anything spicy. He was an excellent cook and often brought the family together for barbeques, breakfasts, and pozole nights.

Allen was strong willed and stubborn at times, but he also had an enormous heart and sense of humor. He quickly made friends anywhere he went. Allen was known as the family prankster. If you’ve spent any time around him and his family you’ve probably heard some of the countless tales of his mischief. Known to his numerous nieces and nephews as ‘Uncle AL’, he will be remembered for all the heart he shared with his family and friends. He truly loved each person and was often described as the “glue” which kept the family together. He was generous, loyal, and always held a positive outlook.

A celebration of life will be held at a future date. As Allen prioritized finding joy in life, the family asks that you do the same – go out and do something that brings you joy and share it with those around you.

Just hard to put in words how this loss hits me and my family. My best friend, best man at my wedding, and the one guy that was there no questions when needed. Gone way too soon. It’s hard to wrap my head and heart around.

Uncle Al or as my kids called you Uncle Buck, I don’t have many child hood memories that you were not apart of. You were always with us on our many adventures growing up! You were also a “sitter” as we got older but mostly we “sat” you. From driving at 1 in the morning to pick up Dominoes pizza because you were hungry and on the promise that you wouldn’t tell on me for smoking to me being voluntold that I was to be your’s and Hutches designated driver for your high school reunion. Oh boy what a night that was. I remember when you were so anxious and excited to go on your first date with Vicki, we had to have a good calm down talk that day. So many memories uncle Al. You were always the Adventure! I am still having a hard time believing you’re not here on Earth with us but I know you are in Heaven at the feet of Jesus in perfect form. You are very Loved and missed, Until we meet again♥️

Oh Allen. 💔 The space you've left here on earth could never be filled by anyone else. I'd known you as long as I've known L2. I remember the first time I came to your momma's house and how welcoming everyone was. 🩷 I remember how you never failed to greet me from the grill at Abs with a "Hello Gorgeous!" 😍 And boy, could you grill a steak! I remember your terrible Raiders jokes and memes, which I will miss so much. I'm glad that Vicky was able to get back to Arizona permanently, so that we could all enjoy the company of BOTH of you together. Please make sure to check in on your beautiful and amazingly strong wife with regularity. We are so sad for the loss of you, but none of us can imagine her heartbreak at the loss of you as a partner in life. Fly high old friend. Till we meet again. The McIntyre's
