April Dawnette Churchill, 48, passed peacefully from this world January 17, 2019 in Tucson, Arizona due to complications from pneumonia.
April was born August 13, 1970 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Darryl and Barbara Churchill.
April graduated from Canyon Del Oro High School and went on to receive a certificate in Medical Assisting. After briefly working in the medical field she enlisted in the army. She was assigned to the Intelligence Division at Fort Dix in New Jersey. She was released from duty because of her medical conditions.
Subsequently April returned to the Tucson area where she joined the Arizona Department of Corrections as an officer in the Maximum Security Male Facility. Because of her medical conditions she was unable to continue in this position.
In the years since, April has lovingly cared for many in our community. She has endeared herself to many for her unselfish way of caring for others. April also served with a passion by teaching Sunday School and working with the Audio Visual needs at her home congregation, Community Christian Church of Marana.
She passed into the Loving Arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with a smile on her face surrounded by her family and loving friends.
Remember me with smiles and laughter – for that’s the way I will remember you all.
If you can only remember me with tears then don’t remember me at all.
