Obituary

Our beloved son, Brandon Paul Branch, entered the arms of his loving Savior on November 3, 2025, at the age of 42.

Affectionately known as “Bran” by his family and friends, he was born on September 21, 1983, in Anchorage, Alaska, where his father was stationed at the time. Throughout his childhood, Bran’s family moved often — from Frankfurt, Germany; Alamogordo, to Farmington — before finally settling in Albuquerque, New Mexico, when his father received an honorable discharge from the military.

As a child, Bran had boundless energy and a love for gymnastics, delighting anyone willing to watch him perform his backflips. He loved to wrestle with his siblings, especially his big brother, occasionally leaving destruction in his path. In high school, Bran excelled in both varsity football and lacrosse. Because they attended the same school and shared an unbreakable bond, he often showed his affection for his little sister through his playful teasing—sometimes even leaving her laughing from inside a trash can. Bran loved surprising her by appearing at her classroom door, trying to persuade her to spend time with him instead of sitting through class, and once even attempted to convince her teacher that ditching with her big brother was perfectly reasonable. He was the perfect blend of partner-in-crime and protective older brother. Bran graduated from Eldorado High School in 2002 and followed in his parents’ footsteps by joining the military, determined to serve his country with pride.

During his years of service, Brandon earned the rank of Specialist and received several commendations, including the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal (2nd Award), National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal, Army Service Ribbon, and Armed Forces Reserve Medal. He served as a Medical Laboratory Specialist and, after his honorable discharge in 2010, pursued a new career path. He earned his certification from Universal Technical Institute and became a certified Cummins diesel mechanic, continuing his service in the Army Reserves in El Paso, Texas.

In 2020, Brandon moved to Tucson, Arizona, with his two beloved dogs, Odie and Dutchess, whom he adored –often more than most people. He lived a simple life filled with humor and laughter. When he returned to the medical laboratory field, he entertained himself and coworkers by wearing silly scrubs and socks including “Raisin Bran” themed ones.

Brandon was preceded in death by his grandparents, Paul and Carolyn Branch; grandmother Bessie Youngs; aunt Arlene Youngs; and good friend and US Marine Corps Veteran, Bradley Page.

He is survived by his devoted parents, Craig and Kathleen Branch of Edmond, OK; his brother Kristofer (Amanda) of Albuquerque, NM; his sister Elizabeth Ham (Luke) of Edmond, OK; nephews Noah, Isaac, and Maverick; nieces Natalia and Isabella; and his very best friends Richard and Jonell Samberson of Albuquerque, NM as well as Chris and Lauren Wrobel of Forney, TX; along with many other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

Bran brought joy to all who knew him and will be remembered for his quick wit and ability to make a room erupt with laughter.
