Cecilia Teyechea passed away in her home on October 26, 2025. She was 72 years old.
Cecilia was born in Tucson, AZ and raised, along with her five siblings, by her father, Rudolfo, and her mother, Rosalie. She attended Pueblo High School before spending many years working for community banks. During this time, she also found the strength and patience to raise two boys by herself, watching with pride and humility as each went on to build lives of service to others.
Her happiest days were the ones spent sitting with her children by the ocean, cuddling the dogs that loved her dearly, laughing with her nieces and nephews at holiday parties and commiserating around a kitchen table with her brothers and sisters.
Through every challenge and hardship, Cecilia never lost her joy or compassion. She led with an open heart and faced life with unwavering strength, grace, and humor. Her love for family and friends was boundless, celebrating every success and soothing every loss, always with same soft smile and warm embrace. She made friends in every room she entered and left everyone she met with a kind word and a reason to smile about themselves. She lived with uncommon courage that shined through as inexhaustible kindness.
Cecilia is survived by her sons, Manny and Rudy, her daughter in law, Bailey, and a loving circle of family who simply knew her as “Nina Cece”.
A Celebration of Life will be held on January 17, 2026. In lieu of flowers, her family suggests donating to Barb’s Dog Rescue, https://www.barbsdogrescue.org/, or a charity of your choice in Cecilia’s name. Her family will post additional details about the Celebration as the date draws near.
