My late husband, Frank Stryker (Silverbell Nursery) had great respect for Dan and introduced us many years ago. Dan was very warm and welcoming to me and I enjoyed his sense of humor. The world is a better place because he was in it. My heart goes out to you and your family for your loss.

My deepest sympathies to all the family. I worked for Dan and with his brother Jim for a year and a half creating dish gardens. I got to know him as a caring and generous soul, treating me like family and enquiring about my grandson. At the time when baby formula shortages led to empty shelves in Maine and my son had to get the most expensive one to feed the baby, while we were mailing what we could find here, Dan gave me $100 to mail to them to help out. We will never forget his generosity! A wonderful man and a loss to all.
