David was born on June 28, 1979 in El Paso, Texas and is the son of Werner and Annie Mammen. He was called home on April 21, 2021.
He spent his youth in various countries with his family as his Papa was in the military. He graduated from Flowing Wells High School in 1997. He spent a few years in the Navy stationed in Charleston, SC and Sasebo, Japan. After the Navy he moved back to Tucson where he obtained his bachelors degree in Criminal Justice.
He is survived by his son (13) Nicholas, his parents Werner and Annie, brother Christian, sister Angela, grandfather Benjamin, along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
For the last two years he has stepped up to help his parents during a big time of need. David was always there for friends and family no matter the circumstances. He was an amazing son, brother, father, and uncle. His infectious smile, his can do attitude, his heart that shown through his eyes were such a welcomed sight to anyone and everyone. He never met a stranger and he showed kindness and love to all, family, and friends, At his various places of work he made an impact on so many coworkers as well as customers. His light will shine forever in our hearts.

Its like i am getting to know you again!! See you soon and I love you!!!
Wow! I’m shocked that I’m just now knowing this:(. David was always super kinda and funny from the time I served with him in the Navy. He would always want to workout and hangout when we weren’t turning two down in the pit. I wish I could have seen him before he went up to heaven. May he rest in peace.

Vern, Annie, and Nicholas my heart is broken for you. When I think of David, I see his great smile (not only from his mouth but his beautiful eyes) and amazing sense of humor. Every time I saw him, he would make me laugh. I think my fondest memory of him was when we lived in the Philippines. He and my son (Joey) were going to preschool and putting on a show. David and Joey were in the front row just crying their eyes out while the rest of the kids were performing. It was funny because although they were only 4 years old, they always presented as tough guys led by Christian. Nicholas, I have a picture of the event that I will share with you once I find it. Christian and Angela I am so sorry for the loss of your brother.
I had the pleasure of meeting David last year when I worked at frys with him. We became very good work buddy’s. David ALWAYS had my back at work & always made sure I was good. He was a great friend & always made me laugh, smile, & made work bare able. I also got the pressure of seeing how much he loved & adored his son. They would come into frys together when he got off & they would shop for dinner together. I pray for his son & his family they will be able to find peace & know that David is right there with you. RIP David you will truly be missed.
Although there are no words that could possibly console your pain, please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. For the Lord comforts his people and will have compassion on his afflicted ones. – Isaiah 49:13 David, your life was a blessing, Your memories a treasure, You are loved beyond words, Missed beyond measure. Love and prayers, David & Lucy Carrillo & Family
We are very sorry for your tragic loss. May the Lord comfort you all at this sad time .
David would always play the Nintendo Wii with me as a little kid. Those memories will last a lifetime, although I only knew him when I was younger, he was always so kind to me. I wish I had reached out more to him now that I’m older. He was a kind soul, he will be deeply missed.

I remember David from our time in the Navy. He was a good man and kind to all. A memory I won’t forget is following boot camp on our liberty weekend a group of us and our families made it out to dinner. While there we entered into a karaoke contest and David wanted to have us sing Lee Greenwood’s “Proud to be an American”. That song and moment captured our feeling of Pride. He will be missed but I’ll be comforted knowing he is at peace.
No te digo adios porque nos veremos en el cielo. Zully y Carlos

My condolences thoughts and prayers go out to David's family and son. David loved his son more than anything and his family and son meant the world to him. He was a great friend, always kind and willing to listen and help any way he could. We dated years ago and ended it. We reconnected last year and recently spoken. His last words to me "Goodnight my dear". We secretly hoped more would come of our friendship but we both were scared. I'm heartbroken to not have more time with him. I will miss him very much. He had the best smile and laugh ever, and the biggest heart. We will meet again one day. ❤
Dear Annie and family, our deepest sympathy to you for the loss of David. May the Good Lord comfort you and assure you of David’s love and eternal life. Sharon & John Takerer
