David R. Hooyman

David was born on February 5 to Herbert Hooyman and Marian Krauss. He was born a twin of Dennis Hooyman, He had 6 siblings Jim Hooyman, Tom Hooyman, Dennis Hooyman, Gary Hooyman, Deb Hooyman and Rick Hooyman. He was preceded in death by his Father Herbert, mother Marian and his brother Jim. David had 6 children from 2 different wives. Linda is the Mother of Phoenix Hooyman, Michael Hooyman, and Rachel Morderson. His children from his 3rd wife are Michelle Ridenour, Donna Ridenour-Slate and Richard Ridenour. He has multiple grandchildren all of whom he loved dearly.
While growing up David and Dennis were stand outs in football in Freedom, Wi. After Dennis joined the Marine Corp and went to Vietnam, David sensed something was wrong with Dennis and proceeded to enlist in the Marine Corp and follow his brother to Vietnam, where both of them were injured. After he returned from Vietnam he went into Veal Farming business in Wisconsin. During his retirement he went on to get a degree in Computer Programming from Fox Valley Community College. In his early years as a father, David was harsh and gruff, however as he approached the finale of his life, he was kind generous, humble and grateful for the family he had. In April 2021 when Jim died it affected David greatly and he decided it was approaching his time to pass. During that time he lived with his grand-daughter Jasmyne Slate. He always said, Jasmyne was a horrible housekeeper but took great care of him. She was by his side during the good and the bad and he would not have changed it for the world. We are all saddened by his death but we will continue to celebrate his life and the affect he had on all he came into contact with.
“For you have delivered me from death and my feet from stumbling,
that I may walk before God
in the light of life” ~ Psalm 56:13
We (Your Family) will continue to carry you in our hearts and are eternally grateful for the impact you had on all of our lives. We will miss you dearly.
