I was trying to reconnect with Merva and I saw this online. I was shocked to read this information. <3 My prayers are with you and your family. This is Cindy from Alabama and her mom and dad were friends with my mom and dad.

I just TODAY learned of Derrick's passing. He and I were high school classmates and friends. Last time I saw Derrick was in 2000 and he and his wife were living in the Bay Area like me. May God and the Universe wrap all left behind in his infinite love.

May the Lord comfort Merva, Naomi, Jerlina, Stephen and his entire family. Derrick was a good husband, father, and son. Although his words were few, you could never doubt his deep love for his wife, daughter and his family. His laughter and smile were infectious. Be comforted in that love that never changed. God bless you all. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
