He is survived by his beloved wife, Chyna Gemrose; his children, Andreas and Alina; his parents, Lance Gemrose, Connie Lopez, and Mark Lopez; his sister, Melia Gemrose; his in-laws, Scott and Rebecca Braun; and a large circle of loving family and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

The first time Drake and I met was at the airport, both of us shipping off to basic training in Georgia. We ended up sitting together on the plane, talking the whole way there. When we landed, it hit us that we were about to begin the journey of becoming soldiers. Arriving at Fort Benning, we saw the drill sergeants for the first time nervous, maybe even a little scared. But fate placed us in the same company and platoon, and for the next three and a half months, we never left each other’s side. We supported one another and created a deep bond as brothers

Drake, you were more than just a friend you were a brother to me and I couldn’t ask for anyone else, from helping you build your first gaming PC, taking you to the gun store with Roger to get your AR, getting blackout drunk at my wedding, going to the range, and to end it with riding motorcycles together like how we always talked about, the 5 years that I got to be around you and your family has been the world to me and I wouldn’t change that for anything, I love and miss you bro, your name will live on forever. Such a dear and beloved friend was Drake. We cherished him like family and our hearts are devastated that we have lost him at such a young age. His smile lit up every room he entered and his joy for life was contagious. We were honored to know him and to share in his young family's life, the birth of his sweet children and the happiness that owing his first home with his wife Chyna brought him. We will forever miss you Drake. The earth will not be the same place without you in it. Cindy and Charlie
