Gregory Peck, age 62, passed away on June 25, 2024, in Houston, Texas. He was born on August 31, 1961, in Fontana, California. He lived most of his exciting and fulfilling life in California’s Inland Empire and recently moved to Marana, Arizona.
Gregory was a dedicated and hardworking individual. He completed his education at Chaffey College, California State University Fullerton, and Azusa Pacific University with a bachelor’s degree and teaching credential. He had a remarkable 37-year career as a science teacher, primarily at Upland High School, where his impact expanded to students and staff alike.
Gregory had a passion for helping others in any way he could, often becoming a father figure to many. As an active member in his church community, his helpful nature extended to years of involvement in ministry through youth programs, mission trips, family groups, and mens’ groups. Even with his busy schedule he found time for the things that brought joy to his heart. His love for the great outdoors and paddleboarding was well-known among his family and friends, as he would include them in his many adventures.
Gregory’s greatest joy was his family. Gregory is survived by a loving family that includes his wife of nearly 37 years, Shelly Peck; his sister, Cynthia Steuben; and his children, Rachel Pawling, Cody Peck, and Kassaundra Bricker. He was also a cherished father-in-law to Nathan Pawling and Joshua Bricker. Gregory’s joy was further multiplied by his granddaughters, Eleanor and Samantha Pawling.
Gregory’s warmth, intelligence, and lively spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to share in his life’s journey.

Greg was one of the best instructors Sylvan Learning has ever had. Kids and staff appreciated his smiles, warmth and genuine concern for all. His love of teaching, his family and life in general will be remembered by all of us lucky enough to have him on our life.
Greg and I would always talk about retirement and what plans we had. I just retired in June and Greg's sudden passing is a reminder to my wife and I to cherish every moment and not wait until tomorrow. I will miss him.
Shelly, I'm very sorry for your loss of Greg. We never know when God will be ready for us. I pray for you and your family for God to heal your hearts and comfort you as only He can. Your sister in Christ Ginger Garrick

Greg was such a fun loving guy. I was his supervisor and colleague at Sylvan Learning and he was the best! He could always be counted on to make everyone laugh, see the positive and show his love for life. He always spoke so fondly of his kids and wife and he lived helping student learn. He will be so dearly missed.

A great friend, never without a smile, always happy to be a servant. Loved by his family and a servant of Christ— the very definition of a great man.
