Obituary

Mom A gentle curve upon the face, A silent language, full of grace. It needs no sound, no word, no plea, it only speaks of joy, and resiliency. Mrs. Jeanette Lee was born August 23, 1946 in Donalsonville, GA. As a young woman spent time between Flint & Detroit MI before joining her brother & mother and starting nursing school in San Antonio TX. There she met Frank Lee Jr. they married and embarked on a life in USAF together with their 2 children. Raised above the frey, a southern belle, an airman’s wife, a mother twice. The epitome of a smile’s true worth, the world can’t know, no market price, no lavish show. It’s a pure light from deep inside, Where honest feeling must reside. Tuff and gentle all at the same time, with the heart of soldier, a star athlete, an artist in her prime. A woman all her own marching to a beat only she heard. Taking possession of the land, living in Massachusetts, Germany, Nevada, Arizona & England. She and her beloved husband for 51 years travelled the world preparing the way upon which their successors will stand. Reciting the 23rd Psalm of David… “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.” And so, our dear Jeanette, be sure, That inner wealth will long endure. What happiness your heart has found, No earthly malice could contain or deem your light which remains. That genuine warmth you possessed, the world could not value, nor oppress. Your joyful smile, a gift untold, your children and grandchildren are proof of your love and gift to this world. Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents Winston Davis and Annie Pearl Cummings Her life and legacy will be cherished by her brother, Robert Holloman; daughter Jeanette Washburn (Steven) ; son, Frank A Lee; grandchildren: Alexis (Nat)of Boston MA; Anthony & James of Ramsgate Kent UK

I loved you & everything you brought into your daughter's life & mine growing up. Your laugh filled a room. I still remember going to Shakey's Pizza on Charleston~ a black family sat down with this white girl and we didn't care. 1980? I'm not sure but we didn't care. You treated me like part of your family & that's all I ever knew. Gosh, you will be missed. Jeanette, my heart hurts for your family. 💔

Jeanette, I am sorry to hear of your mom’s departure. I recall meeting her a few years ago and feeling her quiet and gentle strength. She showed me such kindness. I wanted to know her better but we did not have an opportunity. I also recall how well you and Steve looked after her. You would drop everything you were doing to be with her. And Steve was right there by your side supporting you and your mother. There are many beautiful memories to keep her spirit alive. Love, Zelema
