John Voorhees
Long time Green Valley resident, John C. Voorhees, went home to be with the Lord on July 12, 2024 at the age of 71. He was preceded in death by his father, John H. Voorhees and his mother, Nancy H. Terbush. John enjoyed sharing stories of his hometown, Chagrin Falls, Ohio, where he grew up with his three brothers.
He also cherished hearing the life stories of people in Green Valley, where he worked in maintenance and repair for many of our residents. He loved taking long walks in the desert with his daughter, Janel Voorhees (Prescott), sharing his strong Christian faith and Bible verses with others and raising chickens at his home in Montana Vista.
John is survived by brothers William (Susan), Green Valley; David (Donna), Irvine, CA; and Chris (Wendy), Marana. Also, by nieces and nephews Eleanor Sather, Sarah Voorhees, Amanda Reynolds, Julie and Christopher Voorhees, Lauren and Ian Voorhees and 11 great nieces and nephews.
He will be greatly missed by countless family members and friends. Burial and memorial service will be held Thursday, July 25, 9:30 a.m. at Marana Mortuary Cemetery, 12146 Barnett Rd., Marana.
