Margaret “Peggy” Wilson Cecil of Tucson Arizona, formerly from Montgomery Illinois peacefully passed into the arms of the Lord on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 surrounded by her family.
She was the daughter of James Butler Wilson and Mabel Marie (Farley) Wilson and was born in Rhodell, West Virginia on July 18th, 1936. She is survived by her Husband Tom Clemons, her children Deborah (Greg) Graffagna, James (Joaquina) Cecil, Keith Joel (Nancy) Cecil, and John Gallagher; her grandchildren, Elena (Gen) Topping, Christina Cecil, Samantha Strykowski, Joel Alex Cecil, Barry Graffagna, and Matthew Cecil. Also, her great grandchildren Jordan and Mia Topping; her sisters Rheda Gallimore, Paulette (Mike)Vines, and Pam Wilson along with many nieces, nephews, and other family members. She was loved by her Plata family from Montgomery Illinois of 5 children, 15 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren who all called her Grandma Peggy.
Peggy is preceded in death by her beloved son Jeffrey Carl Cecil, her granddaughter Eleanor Cecil, her parents and her siblings, Gene Wilson, Janice Billups, Lorraine Hatcher, Frank Wilson, Kermit Wilson, and Colin Wilson
Peggy was a Member of the Living Word Southern Baptist Church in Marana and active in her community, her church and loved helping and caring for children. She often commented that she would have loved doing missionary work. She has a love for Christ, music, singing, dancing, knitting, crocheting, studying her family history and baking everyone’s favorite goodies. All you had to do was ask and she was busy baking them for you, no matter where you lived. Peggy loved traveling. She was always up for taking a trip, no matter where. Her and Tom traveled across the US finding wonderful adventures and laughing the whole way. No matter where her and Tom were they would be singing a beautiful duet. Peggy will be remembered wearing her pretty and special hats and being inquisitive about everything. Peggy loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She had a special and unique relationship with everyone. She will be missed deeply and be always loved by her many family members and friends.
A celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, September 20th, 2022 from 2:00pm to 5:00pm at the Living Word Southern Baptist Church located at 13526 N. Sandario Road Marana, AZ 85653. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the St. Jude Children Research Hospital.
