Obituary

Pradelia “Pat” DeAnda

February 20, 1038 – December 13, 2025

Pradelia “Pat” DeAnda, beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother, dear friend and shining  example of kindness to all who knew her, passed away peacefully in Tucson, Arizona, on December 13, 2025 at the age of 87.

Pat was born in Fort Stockton, Texas on February 20, 1938 to Juan and Camilla Moreno. She was the oldest of eight, and was affectionately referred to as “No. 1”. She was raised on a farm outside of Artesia, New Mexico. She deeply loved and was loved by her many siblings, nieces and nephews.

On July 31, 1960, she married Jimmy R. DeAnda and moved to Tucson, Arizona, where they built a loving family. Pat was an amazing mother to James DeAnda (Sheri), Cindy Noble (Bill) and Lisa Delaossa (Adam). The true joys of her life were her seven grandchildren: Brandon (Amber), Allison, Hunter (Hannah), Madison, Lexi, Ella and Andrew. She was happiest when her home was filled with family and friends, celebrating together around her kitchen table. An incredible home cook, Pat’s love language was food, lovingly prepared and shared with everyone around her.

Pat was always a banker by trade. She started her career in Tucson working at Valley National Bank within the Tucson International Airport. As the bank changed owners and names, Pat remained loyal to the profession and eventually retired from Wells Fargo after 35 years.

Outside of work, Pat and Jim were deeply involved in their local church communities. They were active members of St. Monica’s Catholic Church and, after retiring and returning to Tucson following a brief stay in the Globe–Miami area, St. Mark’s Catholic Church. Pat was a proud member of the Catholic Daughters of America, the Peace by Piece seamstress group, and the Dress a Girl project at St. Mark’s. Through her sewing ministry, Pat lovingly created more than 400 dresses and over 200 diaper bags, all donated to local and international charitable outreach.

Pat radiated kindness to everyone she met, her generosity was not reserved for some or a few, but was freely given to everyone she encountered. Even in her passing, Pat’s unwavering acceptance of “It is what it is” while facing Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease set the example and legacy of gratitude and generosity that we hope to carry on in our daily actions. We hope she will be remembered for her beautiful, gentle nature, delicious home cooking, and unparalleled love of family and the Lord.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 31, 2026 at St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Oro Valley, AZ, beginning at 9:30.

My condolences to family. I always enjoyed visiting with my cousin Pat. We mostly reminisced about her Mom Welita Petra and about the memorable times at the farm. Loved her dearly. Arcilia
