Raymond Eugene Hendry, age 76, of Marana, Arizona, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Sunday, July 24, 2016 at CASA de la Luz HOSPICE, in Tucson Arizona. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on August 11, 2016 at Bread of Life, Assembly of God Church, 9000 W. Avra Valley Rd., Marana, Arizona. Reverend Todd Henderson and Chaplain David Paul Wlazlak will officiate. Ray will be laid to rest at Arizona Veterans’ Memorial, Cemetery, Marana, AZ.
Ray was born July 22, 1940 to Kenneth Marvin and Beulah (Bradley) Hendry in Ontario, Oregon. Ray was reared in Crescent City, California, he was a graduate of Del Norte County High School, Class of ‘ 59. After graduating high school in 1959, Ray enrolled at DeVry Technical Institute, Chicago, Illinois where he earned an Associate of Applied Science in Electronic Technology Degree. Upon graduating DeVry in 1961, Ray went to work for General Dynamics, San Diego, California from 1961-1962. Ray joined the U.S. Air Force on Sept. 21,1962 until June 7, 1966 and left with Honorable discharge. He served 3 years active service and 1 year Foreign/or sea service, in Goose Bay, Labrador. He married Peggy Sue Donaldson on September 17, 1966 in Crescent City, California. Ray had a 40 year career in Electronics, he began as a Technician with Fairchild Simi conductor Mountain View, CA from July 1966 to March 1972; Intersil, Cupertino, CA from March 1972 to March 1976, as an engineer. Fuqua Homes Bend, OR. Nov.1976 to Jan.1985, as an electrician; Micron Technology Boise, ID.from Jan, 1985 to June, 1985 as an engineer; Honeywell, Oro Valley, AZ from Jan, 1986 to July, 2006 as a Technician. Ray retired from Honeywell in July 2006.
His Father Kenneth M. Hendry age 87 proceeded him in death in Nov. 2002. He is survived by his 95 yr. old Mother, Beulah Hendry of Kingsport, TN; his wife, Peggy 71 yrs. old of Marana, AZ; his daughter, Kristie Wlazlak 45 yrs. old of Sahuarita, AZ; his son-in-law Chaplain David Paul Wlazlak 44 yrs. old; his two sons, Richard Hendry 42 yrs. old of Marana, AZ and Phillip Hendry 37 yrs. old of Marana, AZ; his sister Fran Hall 66 yrs. old of Fall Branch, TN; his grandson Nathan Wlazlak 5 yrs. old.
Ray, was very studious and loved to study & teach especially the Bible. When Ray retired he did volunteer Bible teaching at Pima county Jail and prison correspondence teaching throughout the U.S. He enjoyed traveling, golfing, camping, water skiing, fishing and hunting.
