Richard G. Downey

Richard G. Downey, 88, of Marana, AZ died Thursday, September 1, 2016 at home. He was born April 28, 1928 in Pasadena, CA but moved to San Diego, CA shortly after. He survived in the Army from 1947-1949. He married Barbara Ann Leafgren on September 16, 1950 in San Diego, CA. They lived in San Diego until 1965 and moved to Long Beach, CA. Downey worked thru the Operating Engineers #501 until he retired in 1990 and then they moved to Tucson, AZ. Survivors are – his wife Barbara Downey, a son Richard G. Downey Jr. and a daughter in law Jeri Downey, a daughter Paula Burt and a son in law Jeff Burt, 8 grandchildren, Holly Hess, Jeffery Burt, Amy Binns, Derek Downey, Carrie O’Connor, Paul Burt, Christine Miller, Richard G. Downey III, and 15 great grandchildren.

Services will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at 11:00am at Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery – Marana, 15950 N. Luckett Rd., Marana, AZ.
