Obituary

Richard Trujillo Martinez, age 81, entered eternal rest on December 4th in Tucson, AZ, surrounded by his family and loved ones. He was born on February 21, 1943, in Tucson, AZ, to Adela Trujillo Martinez and Joaquin Martinez.

Richard proudly served in the United States Navy and was a Vietnam veteran. His dedication to public service, strong work ethic, and deep love for his family were evident throughout his life. He spent his career serving the public in Pima County, earned a well-respected reputation as a sports official, and was a devoted fan of his favorite team, the Oakland Raiders.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Martinez, and children: Richard Martinez, Denese Chism, Michael Martinez, Veronica Rea, Raul Martinez, and stepchildren: Mathew, Sean, and Pam. He is also survived by his siblings: Margaret Martinez, Gilbert Martinez, Leo Martinez, Tony Garcia, Eddie Garcia, and Anthony Garcia.

Richard will be deeply missed by his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and many friends who loved him dearly.

A service to honor his life will be held on January 13th at 9:00 AM at Marana Mortuary Cemetery. The family welcomes all who knew him to join in celebrating his memory.
