Rory Michael Mayberry Jr
December 8, 1969 – August 4, 2024
Rory Michael Mayberry Jr, “Rojie” was born to Rory Sr. and Susan
Mayberry on December 8, 1969 in Fairfield, California.
Rory received Christ as his Lord and Saviour at an early age. Rory left his
earthly life to begin his heavenly life with Christ for eternity on Sunday,
August 4, 2024.
At a young age, Rory began working with his paternal grandfather building houses. Grandpa
always said Rory is a natural and caught on quickly. He had an eye for carpenter work.
When Rory left Fairfield, he went to North Dakota where he spent the majority of his adult life
working various jobs which included big concrete block building, construction, working for a
restaurant/coffee shop, and during deer season he would work a second job skinning/dressing
out deer.
Rory came to Arizona a couple years ago after learning his younger brother was battling cancer.
Rory wasn’t one to sit idle and when he wasn’t working, he was fishing or playing pool with his
dad in the garage. Rory’s maternal grandfather would take him fishing as a young boy and it
quickly became his favorite pastime which continued throughout his life. Rory somehow always
knew where the best spots were and it wasn’t unusual for him to outfish everyone. He was not
shy about telling anyone who would listen about it either.
Rory left many meaningful and happy memories for those who knew and loved him. Left to
cherish his memory and with a hole in each of their hearts, he is survived by his children:
Mikayla, Chelsea, Elizabeth, and Colton; paternal grandparents: Henry and Elizabeth Mayberry;
parents: Rory Mayberry Sr and Susan Mayberry; siblings: David (Ondrea) Mayberry, Connie
(David) Donaldson; along with several uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, and close
friends,
Rory is predeceased by his maternal grandparents: Durel Lockwood Sr. and Thelma Lockwood;
brother: Michael Mayberry; daughter: Jessica; and numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins.
Rory will be remembered for his kind, gentle, giving spirit, and his love of people as he never
met a stranger. Rory would give anything he had to anyone in need.

It’s with a broken heart, I have to let go of my first born son and baby. Words can never describe how my heart is feeling. I take comfort in knowing that you’re with your brother fishing and together again.

Little Rory was a determined young man who I have a memory of watching him fish for hours at Dillon Beach without one bite , so patient ,he had a sweet smile and a great attitude , I know he will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with my brother Rory and his wife Sue in this tragic loss. Love Aunt Nan
