Vera Kathleen (Lowry) Quick of Tucson, AZ, affectionately known as “Kati” to her friends and family, passed away at Northwest Hospital on Tuesday, August 27, 2024.
Kati was a lifelong caregiver and worked as a Registered Nurse for over 35 years in Colorado, California, and Arizona. Kati was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in 2017 and fought a long battle with cancer and related ailments.
Kati is survived by her husband of 38 years, Edward “Joy” Quick of Tucson, AZ; 5 children: Karma Hale, 56, and Keith Richardson, 52, of Tucson, AZ; Roberta Black, 54, and Kevin Richardson, 45, of Colorado Springs, CO; and Dustin Richardson, 41, of Minneapolis, MN. In addition, Kati is survived by 3 step-children: Amy Quick, Caleb Quick, and Toby Quick; as well as 36 grandchildren & great-grandchildren.
Kati is preceded in death by her parents Vera and Charles Lowry, her parents-in-law Bud and Eleanor Quick; her siblings Charlotte Willenbrecht, Joseph Lowry, Bob Lowry, Dick Lowry and Betty Dent; and her niece Debbie Willenbrecht.
A memorial service for friends and family will be held in-person and virtually on Kati’s birthday, November 6, 2024, in Tucson, AZ. Details will be posted on her Facebook page.
A special thank you goes to the staff, doctors, and healers at St. Mary’s and Northwest Hospitals as they cared for Kati through her battle with cancer and in her final days.
