Jim Berndt, 64, of Tucson went to be with the Lord on October 5, 2021. He was born March 17, 1957 in Tucson, Arizona to Larry and Amanda Berndt. Jim was an Arizona boy his whole life, except for the 12 years he got lost in the oil fields of West Texas where he was married to Deanna Ross and became a father to 2 wonderful kids. He married his wife, Lorraine (Raina), on July 2, 1988. They settled in Tucson where Jim began a 30+ year career as a mechanic and operator for Pima County Waste Water Management. He was known for his work ethic, attention to detail, and practical jokes. Jim loved his people but may have loved his dogs more. He was an avid sportsman, but most famously remembered amongst his friends and loved ones for his amazing steaks. He was dearly loved and will be forever missed by those who knew him. Jim was preceded in death by his grandmother, Ana Weber; His father, Larry Joseph Berndt and his brother, Larry “David” Berndt. He is survived by his mother Amanda “Andi” Berndt of Tucson; sister, Susan (Bob) Olson of Tucson; wife, Lorraine Berndt; children, Melissa (Gerry) Wood of North Ogden, Utah, and Jimmy (Andrea) Berndt of Odessa, Texas; five grandchildren, Devyn, Aedan and Eden Wood, Asher and Jackson Berndt; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, chosen family and dear friends who loved him.
