Obituary

Steven J. Lawley, 57, of Marana, AZ passed away on Saturday, January 29, 2022 surrounded by his loved ones. Steve was full of life, had a contagious laugh, and a kind soul. He was a generous and selfless man who had a passion for serving others, especially, the youth of our community. Steve volunteered as a coach, an umpire, and Board member of Continental Ranch Little League. He was an umpire for both District 5 Little League and Kino Baseball League. He was involved in youth ministries at his church, Caring Ministries, raising money and awareness for children’s cancer research through Courtney’s Courage and Intuit’s We Care Give Back.

Steve truly dedicated his life to helping others and he touched the hearts of everyone who knew him. He was honored to serve in the US Navy for six years and was a proud USC Alum. Steve was a devoted and loving husband, father and friend. But, what was most apparent in his life was his devotion to God and his unwavering faith.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn, and his sons Garrett Lawley and Matthew Christensen; his sister and brother-in-law, Rebecca and Brian Walker; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Heather and Hancel Milbourn; nieces and nephews; and many close friends.  Steve will be greatly missed.

Mike and I are heartbroken to hear of the loss of Steve. We did not know him well, but through interactions at church. He seemed to be such a good guy. We are praying for your family as you go through these very difficult times. I know your faith in God will carry you when you can't seem to stand on your own. Love in Christ, Mike & Terri Hicks
