Obituary

James R Lacey, 73, died after a long battle with kidney disease on June 17th, 2025, at his home in Tucson. He was born April 18, 1952, in San Diego, CA, the son of Patricia Lacey Heun and Richard M Lacey. He went to college in CA and earned 2 degrees.

James served in the US Air Force from 1970 until 1974, his rank was SSGT, serving as para-rescue during the Vietnam War, and Electric Power Specialist as well.

James was married four times and has been married to his current wife, Sharon, since September 2008.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Beverly, and a brother, Charles. Surviving in addition to his wife, Sharon, are his sisters and one brother, Patricia (Cassy) Mellor, Cynthia Nollenberger, Tonya Heun, and Jonathan Heun.  He had two stepsons, David Bond and Eric Bond along with, his children, Theodore, James, Michael, and Michelle, several nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

James enjoyed cooking and inventing several dishes for his friends and family.

His love for country music was strong.   He belonged to Mensa and other similar organizations.

James will be interred in the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Marana, AZ, with honors.  Date and time yet to be determined.

Donations can be made in his name to the Southern Veterans Admin in Tucson, the Kidney Foundation, or the Hospice at Dependable Health in Tucson.
