My deepest condolences to the family for your loss. Byron and I worked various assignments while in Atlanta. Byron was a dedicated person, and never sought praise or attention. He was just content to do the best job he could and always succeeded. I will keep your family in my prayers.

Mr. Shields you will be forever missed. Your presence has inspired me in the most positive way. Always willing to help and I knew I could turn to you for anything! Thank you for being an amazing person and the epitome of leader. You are someone I inspire to be. I will leave you with this scripture…..And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. 2 Timothy 4:18 (KJV).
Rest in peace, sir. You are sorely missed.
I will miss Byron tremendously. First met him in New York when we were supporting for Hurricane Sandy. He was always willing to lend a hand and share his knowledge. When I moved to Atlanta Shields and I became great friends. Rest easy my brother, we have the watch!
My Condolences to the family and friends of Byron. Unfortunately I didn't have the privilege of working with him long, I came to Atlanta in May of 2018. However, he earned a ton of respect and admiration from me in a short period of time. I missed him when he moved to Arizona and my heart breaks knowing that he is no longer with us. I feel very fortunate to have known him, he was truly an honorable man.
I'm so sorry for you and the family . The McMillion family send there love and you will be sorely missed. Your other mom jane
To Byron's Family, I knew Byron in Atlanta; he was my direct supervisor for a short while. In my 25 years of Government service, Byron was definitely one of the best bosses I ever had. He was a consumate professional and just an all around great guy. He will be sorely missed for sure. My sincere condolences, William Carr
