Obituary

Carl Glen Junk, 77, of Tucson died on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at home.

Born May 21, 1944 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, he grew up in McCullis Mills, PA and Tucson, AZ and was the son of the late Florence (Rice) and Glen Junk. Carl graduated Catalina High School and attended the University of Arizona.

He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force where he was an Aircraft Weapons Mechanic and spent time in Guam. While in the Air Force, he met the love of his life, Kathryn Chapman.

Carl and Kathy later settled in Bound Brook, NJ where they raised their two sons, Mark and Gary.  He had a long career as a technical manager with Olivetti.

Carl was a dedicated volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America serving as Assistant Scout Master. He enjoyed the great outdoors and spent many weekends camping with family. Always finding the beauty in nature, he retired to Tucson where he had a view of the Catalina mountains at his doorstep.

Carl was skilled in woodworking, computers, and handywork. He became a Dickens Village hobbyist and enjoyed his extensive miniature village with working lights and locomotives.

He is survived by his wife, Kathryn; his sons Mark and wife Christine, and Gary and wife Kristina; his sisters, Evelyn Eshelman, Beverly Shover, and Donna Brewster; grandchildren, Glen, Connor, Marcella, and Lucia; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Services will be private.
