Obituary

Urbina, Carmen G.

March 25th, 1945    –     June 6th, 2023

On the evening of Tuesday, June 6th, 2023, Carmen G. Urbina, surrounded by her loving family, took her final breath and went home to be with the LORD.

Carmen was born March 25th, 1945 to parents Jose & Petra Gonzales, in Tucson Arizona, where she spent most of her life.  In addition to being a loving wife and homemaker, she undertook various entrepreneurial avenues including owning and operating a local salon, making many friends along the way. She shared her life and love with her husband of 53 years, Orlando Urbina, going on to raise four children.  Eventually, their family tree would expand to include 4 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Besides being a mother of four, she also became a spiritual mother, and sister, to many of the faith.  When her first son was born with cerebral palsy, she searched for answers and she found GOD, amen.  The faith, hope and love that she discovered in the scriptures gave her a new outlook that would change her life and impact the lives of everyone that she shared her faith with.  As a strong spiritual leader, she was the pillar of faith in her household. Always worshipping, studying and praying – she was our “Prayer Warrior”.

She loved her husband, Orlando, until his unexpected passing in late 2017.  Even then, every day we had with her was truly a blessing.  She continued with us, bringing joy to those around her, sharing memories, love and laughter, even through her 78th birthday, witnessing her youngest son married and her eldest great-grandchild graduate high school.

She is survived by daughters, Monica and Veronica, & sons, Orlando “Orly” and Roman (Free).

Grandchildren: Ron Felix (Amanda), Jeremiah Felix, Paul Felix (Joanna) and Katrina Felix (Vanessa).

Great-grandchildren: Narissa, Jr., Raymond & Audrina Felix, JJ Felix, & Anthony, Isaiah and Jovanni Felix.

We will all miss her dearly. The love, faith, joy and laughter she shared with all of us will be cherished for the rest of our lives.

Tia Carmen was instrumental in leading our family to having changed lives by introducing us to our Lord Jesus Christ! Thank you Tia! ?? We are so grateful because we would not be who we are today without the love and forgiving power of Jesus that brought about amazing transformations and in so doing we have the assurance that we will see one another and others that have gone before us one day! Tia your presence will be missed however you live on in our hearts and memories.?? Love you!❤️

I miss you every day you’ve been gone and I know I’ll miss you every day of my life. I’m so grateful to have been able to spend so much time with you in your last year here. Re getting to know you and remembering past experiences we had together and laughing about it. You always advocated for your grandkids and that is something I’ll carry with me, you loved us so much and you showed it with all you did with and for us. I thank you for continuing to be the support system I needed and teaching me how to pray and how to talk to god I don’t know who I would be without that. I love you so much nana and I will miss you for always until we meet in the clouds ♥️

To you, a beautiful outspoken women, the rock, the center piece to their life. Thank you for always being you, thank you for your honesty, thank you for your knowledge, and thank you for raising a beautiful family!!! When I first met her she threw me in the kitchen to wash tamale ojas, not the greatest job but hey I got one. I finished and she asked if I did them right, putting me on guard and thinking damn this lady don’t play. As time went on I got the calls to go shop for her and every time, no matter what it was I got “you better bring me exactly what I wrote nothing else, if they don’t got it I don’t want it” lol and she wasn’t playing. But my most favorite was you never denying me an ALMOND JOY and offering me one when I walked in the house lol with the raised eyebrows smile (if you know you know) lol. We’re gana miss you nana thank you for the memories you left behind. To no more pain R.I.P beautiful we love you!!!!
