Gilmore Frank "Gill" Sifers

We are sad to announce the passing of Gilmore Sifers of Stafford, Virginia.  He was affectionately called Gill by his family and friends. He died at the age of 78 on December 15, 2023 at his residence in Tucson, Arizona surrounded by his wife and children.

He is survived by his wife Susan, his children Dave, Carina, Ben, Son-in-law Steve and his grandchildren Lacee, Austin, and Lily.

He was the oldest of seven children.  When he was a teenager he was a paper boy in Alaska when it became a state.  He said the paper tripled in size that day.  He was proud to serve in the US Army. He also worked for Virginia Power for a short time before becoming the utilities foreman at Lorton Prison.

He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.  He also enjoyed dancing with his wife and daughter to Elvis songs.

His service will be held at Marana Veterans Cemetery on March 5 at 2:00PM. There will be a celebration of life at the Sunflower Community Center following the service.
