Janet Kay Donahue, 77, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away peacefully at home on February 10, 2024, after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease and cancer. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many.
Jan was born on February 24, 1946, to Vera and Oma Jay Spillman in Taylorville, Illinois. She went to Palo Verde High School in Tucson, Arizona where she met the love of her life, John Donahue. They got married on February 12, 1966, and would have celebrated their 58Th wedding anniversary this year. After graduating, John and Jan moved to Torrence, California where she was a manager at Pacific Bell Telephone Company. They had two children and later moved back to Tucson. She worked part time as an administrative assistant for various companies so she could be home more with her children.
In 2009, Jan retired and spent her time gardening and enjoying her beloved twin grandsons. Her family and friends meant the world to her and she would have done anything for them.
Jan was predeceased by her parents, Vera and Jay Spillman. She is survived by her husband John Donahue, brother Mark (Patsy) Spillman, son Darin Donahue, daughter Dache (Steve) Patalsky, and grandsons AJ and Ryan Patalsky.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Patalsky home on Saturday February 24, 2024 at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s research (www.michaeljfox.org).
