He was fondly referred to as “Big Joe” and is preceded in death by his beloved Father, Alvino Villa, Mother Sarah Villa, Nephew Adam Villa, and niece Rachel Rivera. He was a deep-rooted resident of Marana, Arizona and served his country proudly as a United States Marine. His unwavering commitment to duty carried over into every aspect of his life. “Big joe” was a proud and selfless father, grandfather, and loving husband.

Joe is survived by his 3 sons, Joe Jr. (Elizabeth) Villa, Joshua Villa, and Jacob Villa; Along with his 4 granddaughters, Isabella Villa, Vivienne Villa, Addison Gioe, and Gemma Villa; His brothers Alvin (Patsy) Villa, Gabby (Geri) Villa, Alex (Billie) Villa; His sisters, Irma (Matt) Villa, Norma (Mike) Spears, and Alma Villa, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Big Joe was a warmhearted and understanding coach, mentor, and Father who showed immense compassion to everyone he crossed paths with. Big Joe always wanted to be a father and considered himself blessed to have 3 sons. His sons often referred to their dad as a superhero, and even as adults still see him that way.

I am sadden to hear the loss of a family member. I remember a great memory we shared during a great snow fall when we made a door out of a sled and tied it to the back of my vehicle. We were adults acting like kids, with our families. We knew it was crazy but, you only live once and we had fun. I'm very honored to have known Joe and the service he provided for our country. My prayers are with you all. God bless.
