Obituary

Manley Higgins passed away in Tucson, Arizona from Alzheimer’s disease on 9/27/23. He would have been 85 on 10/8/23.

Born at this grandmother’s home in Abbyville Kansas.

Received his Masters degree in Education from Fort Hays State University. Was a teacher and principal in Western Kansas-Vesper, Goodland, Winona, Hays. Later on worked for a book company selling textbooks to schools and prisons. He then started his own company Educational Resources Inc. until retirement. He met numerous teachers & principals & traveled many miles over his lifetime.

Survived by his daughter, Deann Osborne & partner Roger Sack in Tucson Az. His brother Duane (Maude) Higgins of Charlotte,  North Carolina.

Ex wife Dalene (Tom) Peters of Tucson Az

Has 2 granddaughters, Ashley & Courtney and 1 great granddaughter Olivia (daughter of Courtney). His pride & joy was seeing Olivia growing up and doing her gymnastics. He loved to watch her run and jump.  Has 2 nephews Mike & Jeff and 1 niece Mary

Preceded in death by his parents Harry & Inez Higgins and son Mark Higgins, sister Glenna & her husband Gene Friesen.

Memorial services will be held in Abbyville Kansas at a later date.
