Marc Vanderbilt, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at the age of 57 on September 23, 2023.
Marc was born in Tacoma, Washington, on May 21, 1966, to David and Elaine Vanderbilt. He attended high school at Franklin Pierce and then proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. For the past 26 years, Marc’s professional passion has been in real estate.
Marc lived most of his life in the Seattle area and in 2021 relocated with his family to beautiful Tucson, Arizona.
Marc was kind, loving and generous. His smile was contagious and brightened every room he entered. Marc cared deeply for others and enjoyed helping people as a mentor and friend. Many described Marc as their “rock” – he was reliable, loyal and trustworthy. Marc always made others laugh and had a big heart.
Marc lived his life to the fullest. He was a self-described dreamer who was indeed living his dreams! He cruised thousands of miles across oceans, flew airplanes, travelled all over Europe, skied mountains, and was looking forward to many more adventures in his lifetime.
“Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the number of moments that take our breath away.”
Marc is survived by his loving life partner, Kristen Lenci of Tucson, AZ, his sister, Lisa Palmer of Grimesland, NC, and his son, Jonathan Vanderbilt of Auburn, WA.
A military memorial service honoring Marc will be held in the Spring at the Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, WA.
