Post an EventJohn Corwin Sanderlin, 72
Born in Pasadena, California on 11/22/1948
Died in Tucson, Arizona on 05/15/2021
John liked marriage and the love of his life was Tracy Lyn (Labar) Sanderlin. Tracy preceeded John in death passing on December 16, 2011 at the age of 48.
John loved music. His favorite band was the Alan Parsons Project.
John was a conversationalist; you knew if you were going to call him than you should set aside at least 2 hours.
John joined the army and began that journey September 1, 1970 in Los Angeles. He trained at Fort Lewis, Washington. After his training, he was shipped to South Vietnam and was part of the 101st Airborne Division. After only a few months he was injured on patrol and recuperated in San Diego. He was then assigned to the 4th infantry in Fort Carson, Colorado.
His next assignment was in Frankfurt, Germany with USAREUR. His next and most proud assignment was a voluntary transfer to the honor guard in Washington, D.C. After 4 years he was transferred to Westcom HQ at Fort Shatter, Hawaii. He was honorably discharged in March of 1992.
He returned to San Diego where he passed exams for the U.S. Border Patrol San Diego County Firrmans but eventually took a job with the U.S. Postal Service. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in October 2000.
John and Tracy moved to Idaho until her passing in 2011. In 2016, John moved to Tucson to care for our brother Rick. He loved Tucson so he stayed.
John is preceded in death by his father Francis Richard Sanderlin, his mother Elizabeth (Betty) Alberta Evington and his brother Richard Lawrence Sanderlin. He is survived by one brother Kevin (Linda) Sanderlin of Rogers, Arkansas and one sister Karla (Toby) Meeker, and one son Sean Sanderlin and five nieces and nephews and many others who loved him.
So sorry to hear. Prayers for the family.
