Pat was born in Los Angeles to Hildur and Eldred Reames on May 7, 1935.
He grew up in Los Angeles and started his career with CalTrans as a Civil Engineer. In 1971 he moved to Sacramento continuing his career with CalTrans and retired as a Deputy Director.
Pat loved to travel, camp and have adventures with his partner Patricia Happel. They enjoyed spending time at their places in San Felipe, Mexico; Lake Tahoe, Nevada; Pinetop, Arizona; Maui, Hawaii and Alamos, Sonora, Mexico; but they called Green Valley, Arizona their home.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He liked watching sports (Go Dodgers), playing golf, reading while at the beach, telling Dad jokes and eating ice cream any time of the day!
Pat was a role model to many. He lead with confidence, wisdom, and honesty. He enjoyed being funny, his family and friends counted on his wit. He was polite, kind and fair to all. He was always there for his daughters. His passing leaves a large void in their lives.
Pat is survived by his partner Patricia Happel of 28 years; his older sister Linnea Reames-Weimer; his three daughters Cindy (Mike) Nausha, Susie Newton, Cathy (Jim) Reames-Hicks; his five Grandchildren, Christen (Andy), Marissa (Kyle), Adam, Michael and Megan; and four Great Grandchildren, Michael, Jack, Devin and Drew.
The family would like to thank all of the medical staff that assisted Pat during his illness. Their compassion and kindness will not be forgotten.
A Celebration of Life for Pat will be held at a later date.
