Obituary

Robert (Bob) Edward Becker, passed away on Monday, November 30, 2020, at home surrounded by his loving family and friends. He is survived by his devoted wife Stephanie Becker after a 26 year marriage they both cherished. Born on August 31, 1937, in Springfield Illinois, he was the son of the late Edward John Becker and Verna Marie Stauffer.

Bob grew up and spent most of his life in his beloved Tucson, Arizona where he enjoyed the outdoors. He would ride his jeep throughout the desert and explore mountainous regions where he enjoyed camping, fishing, and delighted in the hobby of gold prospecting. He had played fast pitch softball and grew to be a lifelong Diamonbacks fan. He had a passion for Bowling and together with his wife, who was his favorite bowling partner, he enjoyed many years on various leagues in the greater Tucson area. They traveled America often and bowled in many local, state and national tournaments. Bob will most be remembered for his keen sense of humor, no-nonsense approach to life and an ultimate giving and kind heart.

He took pride in his career in Law Enforcement where he served as a Tucson Police Officer, Insurance Investigator and retired from Corrections Corp of America. He was active member of the Fraternal Order of Police.

He is survived by two daughters Amy Leonard (Richard), and Kim Dinius. Step children, Michelle Merin and Christopher Aliperti. Four grandchildren he adored, Ajah Dinius, Kiana Dinius, Michael Alsup, and Carmela Brambila (Chris). One greatgrandson, whom he just recently had the pleasure of meeting, Oliver Brambila. He is also survived by supportive and caring siblings, Jim Lukosky (Carol), Suzanne Williams (Bob Dunlap), and Mary Becker. A treasured niece Vanessa Matanza along with a host of other outstanding nieces and nephews; and wonderful friends James and Julia Lester.

Funeral services will be private.

I will always remember when you asked me to take over for Guy at a tournament when he couldn't. From then on Bob and I became very close to you and Steph. Had many memories and laughs during all those bowling and eating sessions. I will miss your hugs that I received frequently. A wonderful, gentle sweet man you were. You are in heaven with the rest of the boys and I am sure you have a bowling team already in progress. Steph and I will carry on with you watching over us. Love you my friend.❤️

Bob was a special friend with a caring heart and always had a big, friendly hug every time we met. Bob had a fresh, carefree approach to life and a very infectious sense of humor. We were always making plans with Stephanie and Bob to get together anytime we could whether it was for breakfast, lunch, dinner, the casino or some bowling event. We just enjoyed spending time with great friends and always had a good time no matter what we did. Bob will be missed so much but we do have peace in knowing that Bob is no longer suffering or in pain. He will forever be in our thoughts and prayers and I'm sure he will keep the angels laughing. Rest in eternal, loving peace my friend! We love you!
