Rose Roberson

Rose M. Roberson (88) passed away on May 29, 2023 at Stonehaven Senior Living in Eagan, Minnesota.  Rose was born April 8, 1935 in Roseau, Minnesota to Lavaun and Engar Mellstrom.

Rose was preceded in death by her husband Jerry (2018), a stillborn daughter, and two sisters, Evonne and Ercyl. She is
survived by her nephews Mervin Grindahl (Patricia), Dean (Doreen) Grindahl, and niece Nancy Rosston.

Rose married Gerald P. Roberson on November 15, 1969. They enjoyed many years of gardening, hiking, playing golf and traveling. Rose worked as an executive secretary in Chicago for 34 years. After years of vacationing in Hawaii, Rose and Jerry achieved their lifelong dream of living in Kauai, Hawaii.

Rose was a fan of Elvis Presley. Rose and Jerry would occasionally host at the famous Coco Palms Resort where the Elvis movie “Blue Hawaii” was filmed. They moved back to Illinois right before Hurricane Iniki came ashore in Kauai. In 2000 they moved to Tucson and continued to travel the Southwest.

The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Stonehaven Senior Living and Minnesota Hospice for the excellent care Rose received. She rests peacefully with her husband at the Marana Cemetery in Tucson, Arizona. Aloha Aunt Rose.
