Obituary

Sally Jean Miles was born to Dan and Joyce McGinley, October 13, 1952, in Alliance, NE. A charismatic woman, with an infectious laugh, and the most beautiful eyes passed away on January 25th, 2017 in Tucson, AZ, joining her father “Pappy” in heaven.

For the last two decades, Sally’s desert home has been her inspiration, sanctuary, and fountain of nirvana. She discovered true happiness beneath deep blue skies and brilliant sunsets. Sally’s joy for life was matched only by her kindness and devotion to her family and friends. At work, she offered care and compassion to thousands of patients during her forty years as a nurse. At home, she was our rock when we needed one. Let us always remember her immeasurable appreciation for life and her generosity to those around her.

Sally is survived by her husband of 43 years, Micheal, their three children and six grandchildren. (Ryan and his wife Melissa, Angela and her husband Shane and Devin. Six grandchildren: Adam, Iliana, Isaac, Selah, Aidan, and Kieran.) Also, Mother, Joyce McGinley, eleven siblings (Case, Ed, Mike, Ron, Colleen, John, Kate, Mark, Jess, Shawn and Margie) and many nieces and nephews.  All will remember her lovingly.

A memorial Mass will be held at St. Christopher Catholic Church in Marana, AZ on Saturday February 4th at 11:00 am with Rosary starting at 10:30. Services will be lead by Father Miguel Mariano with a reception to follow at the church hall.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Ministry, Mary’s Pantry, at St. Christopher Catholic Church at www.stchristophermarana.org or a charity of your choice.

Thank you Joan! My mom was a talented nurse and devoted mother. I'm sure you used to answer the phone when my brothers and I would call CRC with sibling disputes all those years ago. Thank you for your support!

Words so often fail us at times like this. I am so grateful for having known her. Will have wonderful memories of the silly times we had with the family on Knapp as well as the busy little kids days in DIllon. Sally was a combination of funny, calm and gracious. Your family will forever have precious memories of this special lady. Please convey my condolences to Joyce. Parents aren't supposed to outlive their children. She will be blest with her deep faith. My love to all of you.

I am still shocked by her passing, as I imagine you all are as well.... It is unreal. I just saw her....Thank you for posting that beautiful photo-I am glad to have it. I worked in the Wound Clinic and would see her every week when she came in for ambulatory. Though I didn't know her well, I remember after first meeting her that I liked her. She struck me as a very knowledgeable nurse, but she was very approachable and friendly and had a great sense of humor. Her eyes sparkled (just like that photo!) and she had a great laugh. Though I haven't met any of you, her family, I am praying for you all. She will be missed.

It is hard, just knowing she is not still in the world with me. I can't imagine the heartbreak for your family! I know she was always caring for each of you in her most wonderful way. You were her joy! Accept my heartfelt condolences for your loss.

Mike, I am shocked and saddened to learn of Sally's passing. She will always have a special place in my heart. Sharing our first pregnancies together was special. Working with her in CRC was also a great experience. I loved her sense of humor and how dedicated she was to her kids. I remember sharing stories of what we were doing with our cub scout troops. I'm so sorry I didn't get to visit while she was still with us.

Sally and Mike have been neighbors for 13+ years. I loved seeing Sally's smile and her wave as she drove past our house. Always happy and kind, she became a friend I wish I had talked to more often. She loved her family and home and will truly be missed on Pale Moon Trail. Our most sincere sympathy to the Miles Family and friends of Sally.

Thank you, Gail, to the whole Harrington family. The Knapp St days were truly a special time. I have not seen a neighborhood with a bond like that since. Mom was just talking about her times sitting with you over a cup of coffee a few months back. I do believe she truly appreciated knowing you. Ryan

What a beautiful message about Sally in the Obiutary. She was my cousin. I am one of the McGinley's from Nebraska and our family, the Pat McGinley family, offers our condolences. Dan (Sally's \"Pappy\") was my father Pat's younger brother. Last time I saw Sally was at Dan & Joyce's 50th Anniversary in Montana, and she was just like always -- tall, pretty, calm and smiling. What a wonderful celebration that was. Treasure your memories of that pretty woman with the beautiful smile and eyes. Sue McGinley, Denver
