Thomas McCallister
December 7, 1948 – April 1, 2024
Proud Marine, Loyal Family Man, Greatly Loved
Thomas “Tom” McCallister died at the age of 75 succumbing to chronic health challenges. He was born in Staten Island, New York where he was fondly known as Tommy. After spending some of his early years in the Midwest, Tom returned to the East Coast and later in life relocated to Tucson, Arizona where he spent his final years and died at home with his sweetheart, Virginia Adasczik by his side.
Tom graduated from PRHS in Staten Island, where he was captain of the basketball team. After high school, he enlisted in the Marines. He was proud to have served the United States of America with Mike Company 3rd Division 3rd Battalion, for which he received a purple heart for actions in the Vietnam War. After his time with the Marines, he attended and graduated from the Mahattan College of Insurance. Before opening his own reinsurance company, he was an executive with Guy Carpenter Insurance Company. In his healthy years, he loved to play golf, take his family to amusement parks and movies, and he enjoyed travel in his early retirement; to his last breath, his favorite thing to do was have a good laugh over a good coffee with family and friends. Tom’s greatest pride in life was his children and grandchildren, all by whom he is survived, along with the mothers of his children, Virginia, Robin, and Lisa.

Considering this and in lieu of flowers, offerings in his memory may be made to OURRESCUE.org, a nonprofit that combats human trafficking worldwide.
