You don't realize how good things are until they're over. Things will never be the same again.
It was only yesterday 12/22/17, that I found out about Bill"s passing. I am deeply saddened and regret not having been a better friend. I truly owe Bill my thanks and gratitude for being the reason my career in law enforcement and life was and is so rewarding. Bill took me under his wing as a new officer back in 1972 and because of his compassion and friendship he showed me how to be a good cop for forty years I moved away many years ago to finish my career in Pennsylvania and never stopped thinking of Bill . I will always love and miss him as a friend and brother Good bye Bromfield
To the Crum family: I extend my deepest sympathies and condolences. My name is Jordan Ross and my father, Phillip Ross, was a police officer in Tucson during the ‘70s and early ‘80s. He recently found out about Bill’s passing and was speaking very fondly of him. Bill was my dad’s training officer when my dad first started out as a cop, and he said to me that Bill was the best training officer there was. He also credited Bill for molding him into the officer that he became (my dad retired in 2013). He then proceeded to tell me several extremely funny stories involving Bill and stated how he was always a joy to be around. The Ross family is profoundly sorry for your loss. Mr. Crum’s positive impact on my father’s life shall never be forgotten.
I did not know Bill professionally or personally but I feel very close to him through the stories his daughter Elizabeth and son-in-law Joe have related to me over the years. Bill enjoyed his family very much, especially the grand children and he will be sorely missed. My sincere condolences to the family.
